“Aʻohe pau ka ʻike i ka hālau hoʻokahi”
(Not all learning happens in one school)
We offer something unique for middle school students in Ko‘olaupoko entering 9th grade who are looking for a different kind of high school experience. It’s a 4-year program that blends high school with college, allowing you to earn a Hawaiian Knowledge Innovation (HIKI) certificate along with your high school diploma and credits toward your Associate in Arts degree!
Our awesome instructors and counselors are ready to guide you every step of the way. They’ll make learning feel like an adventure. While providing students time to spend at Kailua High School to participate in sport, clubs and engage with other high school students, our instructors will help students develop a grounding in Hawaiian culture and values that students will need to thrive in an ever-changing world. Together, you’ll tackle challenges, work on challenging projects, and build lifelong friendships.
The HIKI certification offers students an introduction to both traditional Hawaiian technologies and contemporary digital technologies and entrepreneurship. Through hands-on learning experiences, you’ll explore the rich heritage of Hawaiian culture while also gaining practical skills relevant to the modern world.
Check out some of the exciting classes in the Hawaiian Knowledge Innovation certificate.
If you’re ready to embark on an exciting journey of discovery and growth, the Middle College High School program is the place to be. Get ready to unlock your potential and make memories that will stay with you for a lifetime!
