Event Details

Join us for a discussion about how Piliamoo (photographers Mark Hamasaki and Kapulani Landgraf) brought attention to the battle over the diversion of water from the windward side of the island to the leeward plains.

As a result of the Waiähole Contested Case (1995-1997), water was ordered restored to the streams of a community for the first time in Hawaii’s history. Hear about this contentious struggle from attorney Denise Antolini, Waiahole community members and farmers Charlie and John Reppun, and photographer Kapulani Landgraf, in a discussion moderated by scholar Healoha Johnston.
