Windward Community College is committed to increasing our recycling efforts.

Recycling is available at Windward Community College cardboard, paper, metal, and number 1 and 2 plastics, similar to curbside recycling throughout the state of Hawaii.

Cans and Bottles

Cans and bottles can be recycled at various bins . located throughout the Windward Community College campus. Please empty your cans and bottle of liquids and leave them in the baskets. Do not put recyclables in the classroom trash cans.

Cardboard

Corrugated Cardboard can be recycled in the recycling dumpster behind Hale ʻĀkoakoa. If it is broken down and left near trash cans, the custodial can take it to the recycling dumpster.

Paper

Paper can be put in recycled paper boxes near all of the printers on campus or in a blue recycling bin marked “paper”.

Transportation

Besides driving to campus there are a number of greener alternatives. These includes carpooling, The Bus, biking, and walking. If you drive, there are special parking spots designated for energy efficient vehicles and electric vehicles.
