Windward Community College is dedicated to innovation and leading the Ko`olaupoko and Ko`olauloa Communities towards a more sustainable path by being an example of sustainable business practices, developing innovative research, training students, and collaborating with community organizations. Here we outline the organizational structures, policies, and diverse initiatives that are part of these efforts towards sustainability. Many of these initiatives are part of larger University of Hawaii system wide efforts.

There are three principal sustainability organizations on campus. First is the Sustainability Committee which is a governing Committee that advises the Chancellor on the implementation of the Sustainability Plan, focusing primarily on sustainable operations, facilities, and business practices. Second is the Sustainability Curriculum Committee, which is a subcommittee of the faculty senate and encourages the educational, research, and training elements of sustainability for students and faculty. Third is the Student Sustainability Club which is the student organization dedicated to advancing sustainability on campus.
