Media is all around us. Windward Community College’s journalism program will help you develop a more critical understanding of the media while also giving you the skills to become your own media maker. Our hands-on, student-centered approach will help you to hone your writing, editing, interviewing, photography, cinematography, design and technical skills while taking you out into the community to tell the stories you find important.

You’ll also have ample opportunities to meet professional journalists and to build your own portfolio of work. Whether you’re someone who wants to be a better communicator—an asset in life and in any career—or an aspiring journalist, try our courses and feel the exhilaration that comes with telling stories that matter.

As part of the Journalism program, you will be given the opportunity to contribute, through reporting, writing, layout, editing, photography, or video, to Windward Community College’s Ka‘Ohana newspaper.
