Heed orders

Windward Community College is committed to providing a safe environment for your ‘ohana and friends. We ask for your cooperation with our event staff and security personnel.

Prohibited Behavior & Items

Unruly, threatening or disruptive behavior is prohibited and you may be asked to leave the event. The following items are not permitted:

  • Firearms, knives, weapons or hazardous items
  • Illegal drugs and alcohol
  • Hoverboards, skateboards, drones or remote-control vehicles
  • Animals (except certified service animals)
  • Large Items such as Flags, balloons, banners, signs, and objects that block the view should be placed in the back of the viewing area.
  • Professional photography, tripods, monopods and selfie sticks

Lost & Found

Any lost items during the ceremony will be placed in the Student Activity Center in Hale Ākoakoa 232. To inquire about lost items, email kaahualo@hawaii.edu for further assistance.

Graduate Dress Code

Graduates will be required to wear Commencement Regalia at the 2026 ceremony. Windward Community College student regalia include a Black Cap and Gown along with a tassel. Purchase your “Graduation Regalia Set” through the Windward Community College Bookstore.

Altering of gowns is not allowed. Graduates with modified gowns will not be permitted to participate.

Avoid wearing sneakers, beach sandals, or shorts.
