FIND OUT WHO IS YOUR STUDENT LOAN SERVICER

Log in at the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS)

  • Log in with your FSA ID (Federal Student Aid ID) username and password
  • Find out who is your federal loan servicer(s)
  • Find out your History of federal loans and Pell Grant use

COMPLETE EXIT COUNSELING REQUIREMENT

Student loan borrowers are required to complete a loan exit counseling each time any of the following occurs:

  • Graduate
  • Leave or Withdraw from school (transfers included)
  • Drop below half-time enrollment (less than six credits)

ARE YOUR STUDENT LOANS DEFAULTED?

Clearing your defaulted student loans is important if you plan to return to school.

  • Login to http://www.nslds.ed.gov with your FSA ID Username and Password to review all your loan(s).
  • Contact the Default Resolution Group, the U.S. Department of Education Collection Agency at 1-800-621-3115 if your loans are past due and you are in Default on your student loans.

IN-SCHOOL DEFERMENT

Eligibility for an In-School Deferment request:

  • Enrolled at least half-time (6 credits)
  • Enrolled at an eligible school and program
  • Complete the form and submit it to the Windward Community College Admissions Office. The In-School Deferment Form is available through your loan servicer’s website.

AM I ELIGIBLE FOR LOAN FORGIVENESS OR DISCHARGES?

Find out if you qualify based on your job or circumstances. Contact your loan servicer today. Examples of Loan Forgiveness or Discharge are:

  • Public Service Loan Forgiveness
  • Total and Permanent Disability Discharge
  • Teacher Loan Forgiveness
