All initial financial aid offers are based on full-time enrollment unless you informed our office otherwise.
Listed below is the number of credits that correspond to each enrollment level:

| Half-time | 6-8 credits |
| Less than half-time | 1-5 credits |
Your financial aid will be electronically applied to any unpaid Windward Community College (WCC) registration charges approximately ten days prior to the start of instruction, unless your aid was finalized after the start of school or if you have any outstanding eligibility requirements.
Refunds are processed by the Cashier’s Office. There are two ways to receive an overpayment refund:
Payments are processed by the Cashier’s Office, 808-235-7411, located in Hale Alaka‘i 114, Monday – Friday from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Payment options include debit card, cash, check or money order payable to the University of Hawai‘i.

For compliance with Title IV Federal guidelines, financial aid only applies to courses that are required for the degree or certificate you are enrolled in. Be sure to check your STAR GPS Registration. The credits for any course listed as “NOT IN PLAN” or “Non-Applicable” are not eligible to receive financial aid. Here’s how the courses will appear in your STAR GPS:
If you see a course labeled as “NOT IN PLAN” or “Non-Applicable,” we encourage you to email or schedule an appointment with your Academic Advisor/Counselor as soon as possible to determine your best course of action. You can schedule with an Academic Advisor/Counselor on STAR Balance or by calling the Counseling Office at 808-235-7413.

The credits for course(s) taken at another UH campus may be considered for financial aid at Windward CC if the following requirements are met:
To maintain your financial aid eligibility, you must meet the terms of the Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy. The UHCC Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy outlines the minimum academic standards you must maintain as a financial aid recipient. You are required to complete at least 67% of the credits you attempt and transfer into WCC as well as maintain a cumulative WCC GPA of at least 2.0 and complete your degree within the maximum time frame of eligibility.
