Welcome back to Windward Community College! Whether you’re returning to complete your degree, begin a new program, or just taking classes to brush up on some skills, we’re glad that you’ve decided to further your education with us. Follow these easy steps to get started today!

STEP 1. SUBMIT ONLINE SYSTEM APPLICATION

Complete the Online Application

  • There is a non-refundable $25 application fee for non-Hawaiʻi residents
    • Active military stationed in Hawai‘i, their dependents, or veteran discharged within the past three years and physically in Hawai‘i are exempt from this fee
      • To apply for the Military Non-Resident Exemption submit a copy of your Military Orders
  • Information about Residency for Tuition Purposes
  • Additional information for International Students
  • Apply on time! See the application deadlines below

STEP 2. RECEIVE YOUR DECISION NOTIFICATION

You will be notified via email of your acceptance into the college along with registration information. Your acceptance notification will be sent to your hawaii.edu account if it is still active.

STEP 3. APPLY FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Apply for Financial Aid through FAFSA at https://fafsa.ed.gov

Windward Community College is a state-approved institution for veteran education benefits. View our VA Educational benefits page for more information on eligibility.

STEP 4. HEALTH CLEARANCE

Before registering for classes Tuberculosis (TB) and Immunization clearances must be submitted to our Admissions & Records Office in Hale Alaka‘i 112 (808-235-7432). You may be accepted to Windward CC without the required health clearances, but you will not be able to register for classes until the clearances are received.

STEP 5. REACTIVATE YOUR MYUH SERVICES ACCOUNT

  • Reactivate your MyUH account at https://hawaii.edu/username/.
    • Click on “Get a UH username” and fill out the Check Status Form
    • MyUH Services allows you to register for classes, check your financial aid status, check grades, make online payments, sign-up for payment plans, and much more

STEP 6. MEET WITH AN ACADEMIC COUNSELOR

An Academic Counselor can assist you by reviewing previous courses taken and determining which courses are needed to complete your program requirements. An Academic Counselor can also advise you on whether or not you’ll need to take a placement exam.

  • Check your “View Holds” link on MyUH
    • Holds prevent registration and can include Financial Obligation Hold, New Student Orientation Hold, Academic Advising Hold, or other holds. Holds such as Financial Aid Obligation must be cleared (paid) before you can register for classes
  • Schedule an appointment with Advising/Academic Counseling

STEP 7. REGISTER FOR COURSES

Students can register online for courses by logging on to MyUH Services.

STEP 8. PAY FOR CLASSES (FAFSA, UH PAYMENT PLAN, ETC.) AND BUY BOOKS

After you have registered for classes, tuition/fees can be paid online through MyUH Services using a credit/debit card or in person at the Business Office (Hale Alaka‘i 114) using cash, check or debit card.

  • If you register, you are responsible for all charges

STEP 9. PURCHASE YOUR BOOKS AND SUPPLIES

Take a copy of your class schedule to the Windward Community College Bookstore (located in Hale ‘Ākoakoa 160) to purchase your textbooks. For bookstore hours, call 808-845-9105.

And finally, go to class!!!
