Makana Mele is a concert that helps to raise funds for the Henry Kapono Foundation Hawaiian Music Scholarship at Windward CC.
Join us for our annual Makana Mele concert—an evening of music and hula celebrating the season of giving. This special event raises funds for the Henry Kapono Foundation Hawaiian Music Scholarship at Windward Community College.
The concert will feature the beautiful hula of hālau Ka Lā ʻŌnohi Mai o Haʻehaʻe, under the direction of Kumu Tracie and Keawe Lopes, as well as performances by Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Jerry Santos and Dr. Kamuela Kimokeo, head of the WCC Music Program.
All proceeds directly support scholarships for students in our Ka‘ohekani Hawaiian Music Cohort Program. Thanks to generous supporters and scholarship partners, we have raised over $250,000 in the past two years.
