Please join all three TRIO Programs (Student Support Services, Educational Talent Search, & Upward Bound) for the annual TRiO Day of Service. We will be doing a “Beautification Day” here at WCC and lunch will be provided. We are SO lucky to have ALL THREE TRIO programs here at WCC and this is a great opportunity to give back to the campus that has hosted us for nearly 30 years!
WHAT IS TRIO DAY you may ask? If you are unfamiliar with what TRIO Day is, a congressional resolution (H. COn. Res. 278) on February 24th, 1986, declared that Saturday, February 28th, 1986, should be designated as “National TRIO Day” to commemorate the annual achievements of the Federal TRIO Programs in communities across the country. Since then, the Council for Opportunity in Education has reserved the fourth Saturday of February as “TRIO Day,” which is on the 22nd of this year.
