Windward Staff Development Hui's.

      This link takes you to a list of all the faculty and staff groups that meet regularly to share common interests and provide support for one another. Anyone can start a Hui, if you cannot find a group that covers topics you are interested in, feel free to get one started.

ScenariosOnline: Teaching in the Learning College

       Teaching in the Learning College is an eight-week online course offered to new faculty in the UHCC system.
       The course is free, takes about 3 hours per week to complete and is recommended for faculty who are new to teaching, new to the UHCC system, or starting a new position, such as moving from lecturer to full time status.
       The course uses an asynchronous, web-based interface, offering a unique opportunity for interdisciplinary, systemwide conversations.

ITS BrownBags & other Trainings

      These are workshops for computer trainings from the UH system delivered over the videoconferencing network (Located on campus in Akoakoa 113a). Typically they include sessions on topics like computer security, innovations in technology, and updates on the system Information Technology services. These are delivered to WCC only if you register for the session at the site linked above.

TALENT Broadcast Workshops

       Here is your source for training on the UH courseware program Laulima. Sign up for live sessions where you can get your questions answered or view recorded sessions at your convenience. Live sessions are delivered over the videoconferencing system in AK 113 and require registration in order to be viewable at WCC.

    Other On-line Opportunities

    Innovation Stream (iStream), provided by the League for Innovation in the Community College, is an on-line resource bank and learning community. As a subscriber, you can use iStream as a professional development tool, listen to League Radio, dialog with colleagues, and access publications and presentations. To access to this site, go to and follow the directions under "Create a New iStream User Account." Windward is listed; you just need to register a password.
