In 1986, Jeanne Clery was 19 years old when she was sexually assaulted and murdered in her college dorm room at Lehigh University. The Jeanne Clery Act was enacted in the belief that crime awareness can prevent crime victimization. WCC encourages its community members to report criminal incidents to WCC’s Safety & Security office, but there are other ways of reporting to be sure we remain compliant with federal law.

WCC’s Office of Safety & Security is committed to assisting all members of Windward Community College in providing for their own safety and security. The Annual Security compliance document may be found below.

This report is required by the federal Jeanne Clery Act and contains policy statements and crime statistics for WCC. The Annual Security Report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety, including topics such as crime prevention, crime reporting policies, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to the safety and security of our campus community.

The Annual Security Report also contains information about crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by WCC; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. A link to the report is located below. You may also request a paper copy from the WCC Office of Safety & Security.

This information is required by law and is provided by WCC’s Office of Safety & Security.

WCC Office of Safety & Security has a strong working relationship with the local police department. As the primary law enforcement agency, the Kane‘ohe Police Department monitors and responds to all reported crimes, regardless of location. Please refer to Honolulu Police Department’s District 4 Kane‘ohe Map and patrol districts for additional law enforcement information.
