Math Placement Test

Check to see if the COMPASS book is available in the library.

Why is it so Important?

  1. To get the best score so you can avoid taking extra review classes.
  2. To cut down on the time it takes you to meet your Math requirements.

What level (Pre-algebra, Algebra, or College Algebra) do I need to start with?

  1. If you have never had algebra before, start out with the beginning level test  (Pre-algebra).
  2. If you have had algebra before, start with the middle level test (Algebra).
  3. If you have had intermediate algebra or higher, start with the highest level test (College Algebra/Trigonometry).

What do you need to do for the Test?

  1. Practice and review all the problems from the ACT COMPASS Math Sample Test Questions for your starting level.  The relevant links are:
  2. Borrow a Math book from the the Windward CC Math Lab or Windward CC Library at your starting level.
  3. Take your time through the test and select your answers carefully.
