Art 202: Introduction to Digital Imaging (3 credits)

Course Description

Combined theory and practice examining major techniques, concepts, and aesthetics in contemporary digital image production. Direct studio experience in essential software, printing techniques and hardware necessary in producing the gallery quality inkjet print. A-F only. Pre: Art 107, 113 or consent. DA (6 lecture/lab)

Pre-Requisite(s): Grade of "C" or better in Art 107 and Art 113, or consent from instructor

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:

  • Produce informed images utilizing knowledge and understanding of the history of photography.
  • Produce gallery quality archival pigment prints in versions and editions.
  • Demonstrate competency in both raster and vector based imaging software.
