The water temperature in Kapaa stream ranges from 22.4-32.6 degrees Celsius. There are no set standards for water temperature, but cooler water is generally considered healthier than warmer water. Among all the study sites in Kapaa stream, site 4 usually had the highest temperature. Site 4 is located directly adjacent to the road, and had no vegetation on the banks. The air temperature, lack of shade and runoff from the road in Site 4 are factors in the elevated temperature readings.
