Each course or workspace can have its own set of tools. You must set up each course separately. Also, if you plan to transfer materials from one course to another, you must have the tools turned on in both courses first.

Changing the Tools in a Course

Instructors can add or delete tools from specific courses.

  1. Log into Laulima and click on the course you want to change.
  2. Click on the "Site Info" link
  3. Click on the "Edit Tools" option in the horizontal tool bar
  4. Check the boxes next to the tools you want to add and uncheck the boxes you want to delete
  5. Click the "Continue" button
  6. Depending on the tools you have changed, you may be asked for more information.
  7. Click the "Finish" button to confirm your changes.

Other Modifications

You can use a tool but make it invisible, or you can change the order of the tools. To do either of these, click on the "Site Info" tool and then on the "Page Order" link.

The "Page Order" page is also where you can edit the name of the tool so that it makes more sense to them or to their class. For instance, you can change "Assignments" to "Submit Papers Here" or change "Discussions and Private Messages" to "Class Discussions".

Changing the Tools in My Workspace

You can add, edit, or delete the tools that appear on your site's menubar through Worksite Setup in My Workspace. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. From the menubar in My Workspace, click on the "Worksite Setup" link.
  2. Check the box next to the site where you wish to add, edit, or delete tools, and then click the "Revise" button.
Note: Although you are able to check multiple boxes, you can only revise the tools in one site at a time.
