Environmental anthropology and political ecology; Relationships of power and politics in conservation and sustainable development; Tourism, urban growth, and coastal resource management; Environmental history in Latin American and Brazil; Ethnoecology, traditional ecological knowledges and resource management in Hawaii and the Pacific; Anthropology of place and space; Surf Culture.
