There will be at least two ways you can earn extra credit in HIST 282: First, A) you can view a recommended video, either in the WCC library or, if possible, rent it from Blockbusters to view at home, or B) you can view a recommended program on PBS/ Channel 11 (Channel 10 on Oceanic Cable). Then, for a 4 pt. extra credit option, you type a minimum of 1.5 pages/450 word (double-spaced, regular margins) summary/reaction paper, which addresses evenly both of the following objectives: I. Summary/ Plot Synopsis: What are the main ideas? How does the video begin? What is in the middle? How does it end? II. Reaction: What interested, amused, confused, surprised, shocked, repulsed, etc. you and why? And especially important, how did this video illustrate some event that we have covered in HIST 282?
