Rising
3:45 on Thursday
in a room with
white floors, shiny wood bars, and an AC turned on high
I feel the cold mousse on my hair
I pull my
new shiny light pink wooden pointe shoes
on
for the first time
I tie the smooth light pink ribbons
curving gracefully around my ankle
I stand up on my toes
my knees slightly bending
seeing myself rising up from the ground
for the first time…
