HONORABLE MENTION

The Dance

Two caterpillars woke one morning

and danced

around deadly thorns

entranced.

Waltzing freely in a strong

embrace.

Gliding along the edge

with grace.

Together they collapsed

on a leaf

and rolled into a soft slumber

with relief.

They soon unfurled out of

their nap

in a mask of disguised

wrap

and danced.
