Honorable
Mention
Crying
in the shower
the
floor is hard, wet, warm
the
intense pounding of the water
drowns out the cries
the
puffiness will be caused by soap in the eyes
privacy
is so no one comes in
tiny
wiles, the lengths taken to
keep
them from others
but
only if the one could hear
for
whom choked words wrench
their
way from the throat and heart
asking
simply, sadly “why”
for
the one who has been cruel for long, made many mistakes
for
the one who shamelessly asked for more
for
the one who is only cruel
goodbye
finally goodbye
tomorrow
will be the day that you walk away
there
it is
then
a sniffle
then
you stand up
wash
every bad thought away
