International Education - Directives


Charge: The committee plans, develops, provides, and maintains international education-related activities including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Serve as liaison with foreign higher education institutions
  • Serve as liaison with the UH International Education Steering Committee, and UHCC International Education Committee
  • Provide information on study abroad opportunities and grants
  • Support and recruit International students

Line of Authority: This committee reports to the Vice Chancellor of Instruction and serves the institution. The committee Chairperson may represent the committee to the Vice Chancellor of Instruction. The committee is intended to represent any and all members of the WCC community including, but not limited to, faculty, staff, and students.

Leadership: The committee elects a chairperson. The elected chairperson attends quarterly meetings of the UH IESC and UHCC IEC.

Membership: Membership is open to volunteers from any department/office on campus. Participation for at least one year is desirable.

Decision nature: The committee may make decisions and/or provide recommendations for the institution.

Decision-making protocol: The committee decides by a majority vote of available members at a meeting, or via e-mail.

Documentation: The committee records discussion, recommendations, and decisions via minutes and memos to the Vice Chancellor of Instruction of Instruction. Minutes are also made available on the College website.

Termination date: Standing committee.
