Chancellor's Message, October 1, 2013
Congratulations to the Windward Community College volunteers and our steadfast Kane‛ohe Business Group (KBG) partners on staging the 13th annual rendition of the best community block party on the green anywhere within thousands of miles. The weather held off just long enough to get the event in the books. I am so pleased whenever we open our home campus to the town for family friendly fun, entertainment and learning about our outstanding programs, as well as the fundraising efforts that do so much to help our scholarship students, student affairs programs and the ever versatile Advancement Fund. Every year we offer a line-up of entertainers that remind us of the depth of talent and creativity that surrounds us in our community. Ho‛olaule‛a was a monumental organizing challenge conducted masterfully on a campus that was beautifully manicured and kept clean throughout the day despite the thousands of visitors streaming in and out of our campus in search of parking, bargains and good times. The campus turned out in force to collaborate with KBG in a seamless effort that frankly cannot be matched. Mahalo nui loa!
