The workshop is limited to 20 participants. You must sign up by emailing Brian Richardson.
In this workshop, you will carve your own seal using a Juzan-seki (shoushan stone, or agalmatolite) from Fujian Province in China, and a seal-engraving knife. The Juzan-seki has the right hardness as a seal-making material, and is easy to carve. You may carve your usual initials, or use characters in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc.
Discussion during the workshop will compare and contrast the signature culture of the West and the seal culture of the East.
Below are examples made by Kagawa Junior College.
