Ethnopharmacognosy is, according to the Foreward by Margie Coberly, "the combined interdisciplinary study of ethnobotany, pharmacy, biochemistry, sociology and the arts."
Research for this beautifully designed booklet was funded by various grants, students in BOT 205, BOT 199 and BOT 160 participated in the research and the development of the sweet potato leaf oil extract, soaps, teas, salves, capsules and food recipes. Peter Owen photographed the bio-products and delicious looking dishes, and Bonnie Beatson and Peter designed the publication.
The next title in the series will be Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical Values of Honohono Grass to be published in September 2009.
