The long-term care needs of a growing elderly population requires skilled health care professionals. Employment opportunities for Certified Nurse's Aides are expected to grow faster than average through 2019. Job opportunities and salary increase with higher education
Job placement and assistance is an integral part of CCE programs. The Job Placement and Retention team works closely with instructors, counselors, and employers to facilitate job matching. Workshops and individualized counseling are offered on job readiness topics including developing career plans, creating an effective resume and cover letters, improving interview skills, completing applications, maintaining personal data, demonstrating proper dress, understanding work ethics and attitude, and actively engaging in the pursuit of a job.
In addition to workshops and individualized counseling, resources such as Career Kokua and Career Access software, a resource library, an employer job bank, and a job search computer lab with internet access are available to students.
